After having gone through the process of writing my first book, 30 Days of Healing After Incarceration, and all it entailed, I began to feel the tug of doing something new and different, but yet still within the scope of ministry with JerNe. Because I knew there were more books that needed to be birthed, I started the process of getting my curriculum published. Whew! Can I tell you that it was a tedious job, but could have been less of a stressor with my staying out of the mix.

As I began to pray and ask God what the next steps were for JerNe,  I clearly heard Him say, “you will help those who want to let the world know where it started, and what it looks like now.” Because of what I have experienced and knowing the call on my life, I want JerNe to be a ministry that is able to help women and men, if requested, tell their story by putting pen to paper.

Getting your thoughts together take time, but it is something that JerNe can help people with who want to tell their story. I know because I had multiple books on the inside, and they were screaming to come out. Learning the ins and outs of what it looks like to publish a book takes time, but when you feel you are called to do so, and you allow the Holy Spirit to intervene, a new book is birthed. It also pays to know people who are gifted in areas that could make the writing process run smoothly without having the author do nothing more than relax and wait for the final copy. Yes, I said the author does nothing until the final coy is shipped to them because “JerNe has got this.”
